The Kearney Police Department faced the challenge of burning digital evidence to DVD’s and the time-consuming process of manually making copies of the DVD’s for the prosecutor’s office. To address this challenge, the Kearney Police Department implemented iCrimeFighter, a cloud-based digital evidence management system, in April 2022. This system has allowed the police department to save time and resources, while improving their ability to collaborate on cases with other agencies and the prosecutor’s office.
The Kearney Police Department is located in Kearney, Nebraska and is a full-service law enforcement agency with approximately 62 sworn officers.
The Kearney Police Department was challenged with burning digital evidence to DVD’s, then manually making copies of the DVD’s for the prosecutor’s office. This was a very time-consuming process that took officers off of the street and away from their duties for long periods of time. Additionally, there were multiple times where the prosecutor was not able to get the DVD to play, resulting in the process having to start over.
